Meta Muse not so Wonder Full

Meta releases 3 models, none of which are good

Releases

Meta Muse Wonder

Meta has released their next set of models in the Muse lineup, being Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full.

Meta Muse Wonder Benchmarks

Muse Wonder is the smaller of the two, and despite the benchmark scores, it is of little note, as it seems to be about the same or worse than Muse Spark 1.3 (their previous model, which was also rather lackluster) in the real world.

Wonder Full is the bigger version, and if you hear good things about Muse Wonder they are probably talking about this model. It has a unique writing style and “personality” compared to the usual Claude and GPT slop we are used to. In terms of actual capabilities, it is still behind the frontier, but is within striking distance.

The reason I am being vague and not giving more details is due to the access to the model. The only way to use Wonder Full is through their subscription plan (you can use the regular Wonder model through the API, but because it is not that great there is no reason to) and the usage limits that they have are extremely prohibitive.

Wonder subscription costs

Notice how the x axis is log scale, also this is only for the base Wonder model, Wonder Full goes through usage 2x faster

Compared to Opus 5.5 on the Anthropic subscription plan, Wonder is 90 times more expensive to use.

Because of this, along with the un-noteworthy performance, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full are dead on arrival.

Quick Hits

Meta Spark Open

Meta did not stop there. They also released an open source version of their Muse Spark 1.2 model, and as you would imagine, this model is dead on arrival as well due to its poor performance compared to its open source Chinese counterparts, and also its terrible license.

It does get the least meaningful throne in the AI world, which is the best open source Western model, beating out the Mistral Large 4 model that was released last week.
